Richard L. Schiefelbusch


Richard L. SchiefelbuschRichard L. Schiefelbusch, a native Kansan, spent his career supporting persons with disabilities. He oversaw the establishment of the speech and hearing clinic at the University of Kansas and helped develop the Intercampus Program in Communicative Disorders (IPCD).  He is a distinguished professor emeritus of the Department of Speech-Language-Hearing: Sciences & Disorders. 

Dr. Schiefelbusch is a world leader in speech-language pathology, language development and disorders, special education, and research in intellectual disability. The Schiefelbusch Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic and the Schiefelbusch Life Span Institute at KU are named in honor of his research and clinical contributions to several disciplines, the University, the State of Kansas, and people with communicative challenges and disabilities around the world.
