Comprehensive Audiology
Evaluations of clients range from adult comprehensive evaluations to play audiometry for preschoolers. The audiologist and student clinicians work with clients of all ages to assure accurate and complete test results.
Services include pure tone air and bone conduction threshold testing to determine the degree of hearing loss. Word recognition ability is assessed so that the difficulty one is experiencing with understanding speech due to hearing loss can be determined.
Screenings of infants can be conducted at the clinic. Otoacoustic emissions (OAEs), determines whether inner ear structures are functioning normally. Additionally, OAEs assess hearing sensitivity for those unable to respond behaviorally (infants, children, adults with developmental disabilities). Middle Ear Analysis is available to assess the function of the middle ear.
Hearing Aid Services
The Hearing Clinic dispenses several different brands of hearing instruments. Evaluations are completed in order to determine which instrument is most appropriate for individual hearing needs. After hearing aids are fitted, follow-up visits are advised for further adjustments that may be necessary. Hearing aid checks, repairs, adjustments, and batteries are taken care of by the Clinic's audiology staff. A 30-day trial period is allowed for any hearing instruments dispensed at this facility.
